Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) Vice Speaker Olena Kondratyuk has said that demining the de-occupied territories is a problem that unites Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
She made the remark on social media after a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), Report informs.
"Demining the de-occupied territories is a humanitarian problem that unites us. On behalf of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada, I expressed gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its significant assistance to Ukraine in the demining process.
Azerbaijan is conducting demining exercises. They have established their own production of demining vehicles. Azerbaijan has recently handed over one of them to Ukraine for defusing anti-personnel mines. Now this equipment is working in the Kharkiv region!
I have also asked the Azerbaijani side to provide Ukraine with equipment to clear anti-tank mines. Ukraine today is the most mined country in the world. And we appreciate any humanitarian aid aimed at saving lives from this deadliest threat," Kondratyuk said.
