Shusha, you are free! So is the Armenian embassy, though in a different sense.
The screening of the documentary film "Shusha, you are free" on November 9 at the Azerbaijan Pavilion of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNH) in Moscow caused, in a sense, a "firestorm" in a significant part of revanchist-minded Armenian society and the diaspora, unable to deal with the inner bitterness of the shameful kicking in the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020.
Certain, as it is now popularly said, "crows" were heard on the day and immediately after the film was shown, after which it seemed that the source of the “fire” had been extinguished. But no - the smoke seems to have resumed and continues to pollute the environment.
The editorial office of an Armenian publication, the name of which will not be mentioned, sent an inquiry to the management of VDNH. We don't know what the essence of this inquiry was, and we are not interested in it. What is important is the respondent's answer to this query from the Armenian media: the tenant of the Azerbaijan pavilion did not inform the management of VDNKh about the screening of the film on the territory of the Moscow exhibition center in advance.
That's right, the tenant didn't inform, and he must not inform about events that are held behind closed doors.
The management of the exhibition also stressed that during the screening, the pavilion was closed to the public without specifying the reasons for such a decision. This is also true. There is not a single word about holding private events in the Rules for using the leased premises and in the Conditions of the lease agreement signed for a period of 50 years.
Therefore, having previously notified the administration of the exhibition about the closing of the pavilion for one day, the tenant is entitled to hold everything, for example, a conference, master classes in baking Azerbaijani lavash (a large, thin, soft, or crisp flatbread) and cooking dolma (a dish consisting of meat and spiced rice wrapped in vine or cabbage leaves), behind closed doors. Everything!
Therefore, the Armenian media outlet was dissatisfied with the answer. The leadership of the VDNH reacted to the request, however, it was not obliged to do this. It just informed the Armenian complainants about the rules.
Nevertheless, dear Saadat Kadyrova made one mistake. She “forgot” to ask permission from the Armenian embassy.
Next time, she will definitely take into account the vulnerable souls of this country's embassy employees and ask them if they managed to cope with their phobias and whether they will grant permission to the tenant of the pavilion - 000 "Baku Business Center" - to show a film about the liberation of the city, which is as sacred and inviolable for the Azerbaijani people as Sergiev Posad is for a Russian, Mtskheta is for Georgians, and Vatican is for Catholics. A film about the expulsion of the enemy from the city, equal to the expulsion of Hitler's hordes from Stalingrad!
Next time we will ask permission!
