Azerbaijan’s snap presidential election in spotlight of global media
Azerbaijan's snap presidential elections on February 7 and Ilham Aliyev's landslide victory were widely covered by global media, Azertag reports.
The articles, published by leading media outlets, including “Anadolu Agency”, "Daily News Hungary", "Origo", "Magyar Nemzet", "Demokrata", “Belarus seqodnya” and others have published articles highlighting Ilham Aliyev’s confident victory in the snap presidential election.
The articles emphasized that the presidential election marked the first-ever election in the history of independent Azerbaijan conducted across all parts of the country.
Media outlets in Europe, the US, as well as the Middle East and Asia, including China and Pakistan, provided insights into the snap presidential election in Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the election was held for the first time in the modern history of Azerbaijan when the country has full control over its territory.
The articles headlined "Aliyev reports high voter turnout in Azerbaijani election: A victory for the people" published on the Breaking News Network Worldwide, as well as the articles published by The Washington Post, the Associated Press and Euronews, highlighted the high voter turnout and great enthusiasm on the polling day, as well as the victory held since Azerbaijan took control of Karabakh.

The articles emphasized that international observers did not register any irregularities in the election with a high voter turnout.
The Russian First TV channel also broadcast several reports about the high voter turnout in Azerbaijan’s presidential election, while the "NTV" TV channel described the voting of President Ilham Aliyev and his family members in Khankendi as a landmark event.
Turkish “Anadolu Agency”, “Haber Global”, “IHA”, "Hürriyet", "Son Dakika", "Haberler.com", "Beyaz Gazete", "TRT-Haber" posted articles highlighting the voting process in the territories liberated from occupation, especially in the city of Fuzuli, as well as the participation of former IDPs, who returned to their homes, in the election.
