Yerevan ready to discuss gas purchase with Baku – Armenian Speaker UPDATED
Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan has said that Armenia is ready to discuss the issue of gas purchase from Azerbaijan.
He made the remark at a briefing, referring to President Ilham Aliyev's statement that Armenia can buy gas from Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.
"I think it is very good, I have a positive attitude towards it. We need to discuss this issue, and it's not that the gas that Armenia uses now is not Azerbaijani. It is a very good option to build a gas pipeline and buy gas not only from Azerbaijan but also from Iran. I will talk about it with my colleagues," he said.
"People are busy creating a conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan because of the incitement of a third country, enough is enough. I do not rule out that Armenia is already buying Azerbaijani gas, because part of the gas bought from Russia is Azerbaijani," Simonyan said.
