Turkish, Azerbaijani filmmakers unite for joint historical film Golden Train
Turkish and Azerbaijani filmmakers have joined forces for a collaborative historical film venture as the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan signs a memorandum of understanding with renowned Turkish film companies Saka Film Prodüksiyon and Tulpar Film.
The agreement, aimed at joint film production endeavors, paves the way for the creation of Golden Train (Altın Tren), a cinematic narrative slated for release in both Azerbaijani and Turkish marketsç according to Azertac.
Acting Director General of the Cinema Agency Orxan Fikratoglu, represented Azerbaijan in signing the tripartite memorandum, which delineates cooperative efforts in filmmaking.
Set to unfold against the backdrop of early twentieth-century Türkiye and Azerbaijan, the film delves into the intertwined history of the two nations, spotlighting the arrival of commander Nuru Pasha to aid Azerbaijan and the transportation of gold-laden wagons from Azerbaijan to fraternal Türkiye.
Notably, this marks the first investment by Turkish companies in Azerbaijan's film industry, with financial backing sourced from the brotherly nation's producers, and underscored by the supportive framework outlined in the memorandum, which also underscores the collaborative spirit among TURKSOY member countries.
