Washington ready for facilitating role in Azerbaijan-Armenia peace

Washington continues to engage the leadership of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and to offer the facilitation of a dignified and durable peace where the rights of all are respected, said the US Department of State Spokesperson Matthew Miller.

"It is important that Armenia and Azerbaijan discuss and resolve issues directly to benefit the region. We would welcome a role in facilitating those talks. We’ve seen other countries offer to facilitate those talks," Miller said in a press briefing on November 20.

He added that it’s important that Baku and Yerevan talk face-to-face to reach a durable agreement.
